Questions to Ask When Buying a Diamond

It’s easy to get swept up in the marketing hype of diamonds. When buying a diamond, it is important to know all the facts. You want to avoid getting ripped off or buying an inferior product that will lose its true value over time.

If you’re thinking of buying a diamond, then you must ask yourself these questions before laying down your cash:

The Four C’s of Buying a Diamond: Cut, Color, Clarity & Carat

When buying a diamond, it’s important to know the Four Cs. These are four factors that affect how much your new rock will cost you and its overall quality. These are carat, cut, clarity, and color.

  • Carat

is a measure of weight that ranges from 0.15 to 50 carats depending on the size of your diamond. A larger stone will always be more expensive than a smaller one because it takes more rough diamonds to create a large gemstone.

  • Cut

is probably the most important factor in determining your diamond’s quality and cost because it affects how much sparkle you’ll get out of this rock. The way that a stone is cut will determine its brilliance, which refers to how well it reflects light back to your eyes when exposed to direct illumination.

  • Color

is probably the least important factor because it affects how much your diamond sparkles. The less color in a stone, the more intensely diamonds are refracted and reflected to create their luster. While you can find some stones with vivid colors like blue or pink, most wholesale diamond dealers sell only white ones that have no color.
Wholesale diamond dealers are the best place to buy your stone because they can offer you truly beautiful diamonds at competitive prices. Wholesale Diamonds are sold in a variety of cuts and sizes.

  • Clarity

is also another important factor to consider when buying your stone because it affects its quality as well. Flawless wholesale diamonds are rare, but they are worth the higher price because of their superior quality. These are available in several shapes, including round, square, and even heart-shaped stones that can be used to create unique engagement rings or pendants.

How much do you need to spend?

Wholesale diamonds are the perfect solution for those looking to keep costs down. Wholesale diamond buyers typically ask that you purchase at least $5000 worth of merchandise, although this can vary depending on your needs (such as an engagement ring).

Wholesale diamonds are priced at a fraction of what you would pay if you purchased the same diamond from your local jewelry store.

Wholesale diamonds are priced at a significant discount, which allows you to purchase more diamonds for your money. Wholesale buyers typically provide each buyer with their own account manager who can help walk them through the process of purchasing wholesale diamonds.

Highland Park is one of the best places to live in the Dallas suburbs considering the market appeal, available housing, private school student academic performance, and local crime rates.

Located in central Dallas County, Highland Park is becoming a more desirable place to live as the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex continues to grow.

The area is in proximity to downtown Dallas and the Love Field and DFW International airports. Not to mention, a huge reason Highland Park is such a lovely place is because of its beautiful neighborhoods.

In 1837, after a savage Indian battle, the remnants of a Texas Ranger scouting expedition camped in a lovely spot along “the creek with all the turtles.”

These survivors were the first recorded Anglo-Americans in the area that is now known as Highland Park. Years later, this creek would become known as Turtle Creek, offering breathtaking park vistas for area residents.

A year later, an old Caddo Indian trace was surveyed by the Republic of Texas to become part of a National Central Road to run from Austin to the Red River. This route was also used as a segment of the old Shawnee Trail for cattle drives to Missouri.

Today that trail is known as Preston Road. It is easy to imagine the founder of Dallas, John Neely Bryan, walking through the one-day-to-be Highland Park as he traveled Preston Trail on his way to the founding of Dallas.

  1. Highland Park Bowl: Formerly a cherished music venue called Mr. T’s Bowl, the 1933 Group took over the space in 2015 and transformed it into a gorgeous, steampunk-Esque bowling alley and bar. The details here are meticulous, from chandeliers made out of repurposed pinsetters to old bowling banners that line the alley’s eight lanes.
  2. Galco’s Soda Pop Stop: Get lost in aisles stocked with hundreds of varieties of root beer and vintage soda, from old-fashioned cream sodas to ginger beer made with real ginger oil. Just browsing the bins of hard-to-find vintage candy in nostalgic wrapping evokes delicious childhood memories (sans stomach aches and sticky fingers).
  3. Bob Baker Marionette Theater: Nothing says childhood entertainment quite like a puppet show, and this nearly six-decade-old marionette theater delivers, big-time. Though the namesake Bob Baker has passed, and the theater has moved from Westlake to Highland Park, its charms have stayed intact: The kitsch factor is high here—original puppets, cheesy old songs, and sorbet-colored decor—but that only adds to the legendary vibe.
  4. Highland Theatres: For one of the best deals in town, catch the $6 showings of new film releases on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and $7 bargain matinees, daily before 6 pm. Just don’t expect an art-house audience—especially in the G-rated flicks, the kids can get a bit rowdy.
  5. Chicken Boy: Cruise up Figueroa, and eventually you’ll come across this 22-foot-tall burly man perched on a rooftop, giant yellow bucket in hand. Oh yeah, and he has the head of an anthropomorphized chicken—wattles, comb, beak and all. Chicken Boy started his life in a Downtown fried chicken shack in the ’60s.
  6. Barcade: Though it arrived well after L.A.’s initial burst of arcade bars, Brooklyn’s Barcade brand has brought craft beer and old-school arcade cabinets to Highland Park. The retro-inspired spot has over 70 arcade and pinball games in rotation, from Frogger to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to Windjammers.
  7. Southwest Museum: Founded in 1907 by legendary activist Charles F. Lummis, the Southwest Museum of the American Indian now lives on as the Autry’s satellite Mt. Washington campus, just south of Highland Park.
  8. Lummis House (El Alisal): The over-achieving Charles Fletcher Lummis founded the Southwest Museum and was an editor at the L.A. Times, and he still managed to design this house (the name of which means “the Sycamore” in Spanish) on the banks of the Arroyo Seco, just south of Highland Park.
  • Tram
  • Taxi
  • Towncar
  • Shuttle

These are the most common types of public transportation in Highland Park. If you need to get around town and don’t have a car, one of these should work for you!

  1. Highland Park has approximately 8,900 residents.
  2. One of the oldest Christmas Traditions in Dallas County is the annual lighting of The Big Pecan Tree.
  3. The Town was named “Highland Park” because of its higher elevation compared to the surrounding area and because 20% of developed land was reserved for park space.
  4. Highland Park is the most affluent city in Texas and is ranked the 7th richest place in the United States.
  5. The land now known as Highland Park was bought in 1889 by a group of investors from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, known as the Philadelphia Place Land Association, for an average price of $377 an acre, with a total of $500,000.
  6. Highland Park became somewhat famous in the early 1980s when the popular television show Dallas used to shoot on location there.
  7. Highland Park has earned a reputation for having some of the most expensive property prices in the Dallas area. The median home value in Highland Park is $1,540,200.
  8. Addresses in Highland Park may use either “Dallas, Texas” or “Highland Park, Texas” as the city designation, although the United States Postal Service prefers the use of the “Dallas, Texas” designation for the sake of simplicity.
